ChondroCare by Metagenics is an advanced joint protection supplement. It is formulated with high-quality glucosamine sulfate and chondroitin sulfate, two highly-researched nutrients that safely support cartilage and overall joint health.
The current mostly commonly prescribed medication for osteoarthritis is Celecoxib/CeleBREX. This drug is an NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory) that can cause life-threatening side effects. In fact, it has what is called a “black-box warning“, which is a warning in the literature with a literal bold black box around it so that physicians do not miss the warning due to it’s frequency and severity. Metagenics has also included MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) in this ChondroCare formula as well as zinc, copper, manganese and selenium for antioxidant support. MSM is a nutrient that contains organic sulfur and is used by the body to reduce inflammation. There is some evidence that MSM can inhibit arterial plaque (plaque that clogs the arteries) and reduce the incidence of some cancers. Research has shown that the use of MSM is osteoporosis patients results in a significant decrease of all osteoarthritis symptoms, including pain, without adverse side effects.
